Community Level 2 – Familiar

Materials: None

How To Play: Form groups of players. Establish a starting line
and a finish line. Groups line up along the starting line, with each
group member standing side-by-side. Goal of the game is to work together
to move from the starting line to the finish line, always keeping sides
of players’ feet joined together (players may not break contact with
their neighbors’ feet on either side).

Plan for Success:
Model and practice how to move while keeping feet joined with
neighbors’ feet. Start with pairs, but create larger groups as players
learn how to move.

Variations: After players demonstrate mastery working
side-by-side, have them brainstorm other configurations they might
arrange themselves in, and repeat the process of walking from the
starting line to the finish line.

Examples of team configurations:

Shapes (circles, triangles, squares)
Objects (boats, buses, couches)
