Community Level 2 – Familiar

Materials: None

How To Play: The leader chooses a topic but only reveals an
attribute or quality of the topic by saying, “You can bring a/an
(attribute) through the green door.” The players deduce the topic by
guessing what other things-objects, numbers, or ideas-they can bring
through the green door, saying, “Can I bring a _______ through the green
door?” The leader replies “yes” or “No.” The play ends when
everybody has made a correct guess and a player names the topic.

EXAMPLES
Topic: Prime numbers
Leader: I can bring 7 through the green door.
Player 1: Can I bring 14 through the door? (thinking the topic is multiples of 7)
Leader: No you cannot.
Player 2: Can I bring 23 through the green door?
Leader: Yes.
(and, after more guesses from players)
Leader: What is my topic?
Player: Your topic is prime numbers.

Topic: Adjectives
Leader: I can bring big ball through the green door.
Player 1: Can I bring a football through the green door?(thinking the topic is nouns)
Leader: No you cannot.
Player 2: Can I bring a red car through the green door?
Leader: Yes.
(and, after more guesses from players)
Leader: What is my topic?
Player: Your topic is adjectives, followed by the nouns they modify.

Plan for Success:
Determine in advance how players will be selected to offer guesses.
For example, players could raise hands with guesses or they could guess
by moving from player to player around the circle.
