This is a process used to reflect on the ups and downs of the year. Peaks and valleys make a great visual if a mountainscape is drawn and used for the reflection. This can be done individually or in teams. Have them share what has gone well (peaks) and what not so well (valleys). Remember that along with peaks and valleys, there are plateaus, outcroppings and crevices that may better explain certain aspects of the year. Ask students to consider one or more of the following aspects of their year
- School projects
- School/personal goals
- Sports and after school clubs
- Social contract
Once completed, students can share parts they wish with a partner or small groups. This would also work well to share with a parent/guardian.
