How To Play: One player starts by saying something that is true about themself, e.g., I live to play basketball. I have two brothers. If that is true about anybody else in the circle, they respond by snapping their fingers, standing up or taking a small step forward and flipping up their hands (choose one response action) and say, “Ditto!” The game goes around the circle until everybody has had a chance.

Acquainted

How to play: Students arrange themselves as quickly as possible
in an ordered line according to a prompt given by the leader. Students
can line up by height, by birthdays, age, number of siblings,
alphabetically, according to a number given them on a slip of paper
(numbers can be large and don’t have to be consecutive), last four
digits of their telephone number, etc.

Materials: None

How To Play: Everyone sits in the circle with one extra, open
chair. Students say the chant in order around the circle. The chant
can go either direction, but always starts with the person next to the
empty chair. As they say their words, they move into the empty chair.
1st student: “I sit” (moves)
2nd student: “In the grass” (moves)
3rd Student: “With my friend ____.” (name person across the circle to come and take the empty chair next to them)
